Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair

TWIN COOLING FAN AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY, RENEW

Disconnect the battery.

Remove the lower fan harness from the securing clip (2 Fig. 2) and disconnect the lower fan connector (1 Fig. 2).

Cut and remove the tiestraps securing the upper fan harness to the lower motor support legs (2 & 3 Fig. 2). Remove the upper fan harness from the
securing clip (5 Fig. 2) and disconnect the upper fan connector (4 Fig. 2).

Remove the bolts (6 Fig. 2) securing the cooling fan and motor assembly to the radiator, noting the position of the fastener components for
reassembly. Remove the fan assembly from the vehicle.

Place the new fan and motor assembly in position. Fit the securing bolts and fastener components to the radiator. Finally tighten the securing bolts.

Fit the upper fan harness to the securing clip and fit the upper fan connector. Fit new tiestraps to secure the upper fan harness to the lower motor
support legs and cut off the protruding tail of the tiestraps.

Fit the lower fan harness to the securing clip and fit the lower fan connector.

-

Connect the battery.
