Electronic Brake Control Module: Description and Operation

Brake Control Module 
The brake control module (BCM) is integrated with the modulator valve block.

-

It houses the solenoids which operate the modulator inlet and outlet valves.

-

When installed, the valve stems locate in the BCM mounted solenoids.

-

There is no electrical connection between the BCM and the valve block.

-

The signals to the BCM are generated using wheel speed ingormation received from the wheel speed sensors.

Brake Control Modulator 
Whichever system is installed, the modulator is located behind the left hand headlamp. It comprises:

-

An aluminum valve block.

-

An electrically driven hydraulic pump.

-

Two low pressure accumulators and damping chambers.
