Exterior Door Handle -

Install New Rubber Buffers

Issue:
On some X-TYPE vehicles, customers may have a concern of noise from the exterior door handle when released. This can be caused by missing or
displaced exterior door handle rubber buffers.

Action:
In case of a verified customer complaint of the above condition, install new exterior door handle rubber buffers as outlined below.

1.

Lift the exterior door handle "up" and hold in the highest position.

2.

Apply a suitable grease to the new rubber buffers (to aid installation).

3.

Install the new rubber buffers to the exterior door handle.

4.

Release the exterior door handle.

5.

If required, carry out steps 1 to 4 for the remaining exterior door handles.
