Issue:

Some 2002 MY-ON X-TYPE vehicles may exhibit a gradual reduction in brake booster performance over time.

In hot climates, under extreme temperatures, the heat may cause the brake booster vacuum hose check valve exterior to deteriorate (corrode/crumble)
which may in turn lead to a gradual reduction in the brake booster performance over time.

Action:

In case of a customer complaint of the above condition on an X-TYPE vehicle, inspect the check valve and, if necessary, install a new brake booster
vacuum hose, by following the workshop procedure outlined below.
