SERVICE ACTION: Transmission Control Switch Stuck in Gear

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

CONDITION SUMMARY:

Situation:
A limited number of Jaguar XF vehicles may have been manufactured away from process and, in some cases, the driver is unable to rotate the
Transmission Control Switch CFCS) and is unable to select a different gear (PRND). If failure occurs during a drive period, when the ignition is
switched OFF the transmission will engage Park regardless of the position of the rotary shifter.

In the event a vehicle is exhibiting the failure condition when received, check for the presence of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P176C-11 in the
Transmission Control Module (TCM) prior to carrying out the Repair Procedure below. If any other DTCs are present, investigate and repair as a
separate claim prior to carrying out the Repair Procedure below.

NOTE:

Vehicles fitted with a replacement transmission control switch since September 2009 are not affected; check DDW to ensure vehicle is affected
by this Service Action prior to undertaking any rework action.

Action:

Dealers are required to update all affected vehicles within their control and withhold them from retail delivery pending completion of the rework
actions detailed in this bulletin. Affected vehicles in the hands of owners should be repaired at the next available opportunity. At the time of customer
appointment, ensure that all outstanding service  campaigns for each individual vehicle are identified and allocate sufficient time and resources to
complete all campaigns. Refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below.

QUANTITY '1' (ONE) EACH OF C2Z15847 AND C2Z16163 is SUFFICIENT TO REPAIR 40 VEHICLES; ENSURE FUTURE ORDERS
PLACED REFLECT THIS.

THE SEALANT IS SHIPPED IN A GEL PACK TO MAINTAIN A TEMPERATURE OF APPROXIMATELY 5°C (40° F). IT MUST BE
STORED IN THE SUPPLIED REFRIGERATOR BETWEEN VEHICLE REPAIRS TO MAXIMIZE SHELF LIFE. FAILURE TO
REFRIGERATE THE SEALANT WILL REDUCE THE SHELF LIFE TO APPROXIMATELY SEVEN (7) DAYS.

Always refer to DDW to obtain the latest repair time. Check DDW to ensure that the vehicle is affected by this Service Action prior to undertaking
any rework action. At the time of confirming a booking for vehicle repair, ensure that all outstanding Service Actions are identified to ensure the
correct parts are available and adequate workshop time is allocated for repairs to be completed at one visit.

Warranty claims must be submitted quoting Program Code K048 together with the relevant Option Code from the table. The SROs and part
information listed have been included for information only.
