1. Repair corrosion on the luggage compartment lid according to Jaguar Paint standards (to be claimed as a separate Warranty Claim).

2. To prevent corrosion re-occurrence, fit protective tape as follows: (Figure 1)

^ Using suitable tape, mark the installed position of the luggage compartment lid upper trim finisher.

^ Attach a strip of tape 1.5mm +/- 0.5mm above the luggage compartment lid moulding.

^ Attach a strip of tape 1.5mm +/- 0.5mm below the luggage compartment lid moulding.

CAUTION:

Remove and refit the luggage compartment finisher carefully, ensuring the seven fixings do not damage the paint.

3. Refer Workshop Manual, section 417-01: Exterior Lighting > Removal and Installation > Rear Fog Lamp, and remove both rear fog lamps.

CAUTION:

Protection film must overlap finisher top and bottom (1.5mm) to provide the correct level of abrasion resistance to prevent future corrosion.

NOTE:

Ensure that the surface is clean and free from dust and grease.

NOTE:

Ensure that no air bubbles are trapped under the surface of the tape

NOTE:

Ensure that the upper section of clear tape extends at least 10mm under the installed position of the fog lamps.
