Heater Water Valve - Knockin6 Noise During Climate Control Operation - Repair Procedure

ISSUE:

A knocking noise from the engine compartment of 1995 MY Sedan Range vehicles during climate control operation.

The knocking noise can result from heater valve operating pulses being transmitted to the vehicle through the heater valve mounts. Softer mounts are
fitted in production from VIN 739751.

ACTION:

If customers complain of a knocking noise from the engine compartment during climate control system operation on 1995 MY Sedan Range vehicles
within the VIN range, replace the existing heater valve mounts with the upgraded mounts.

HEATER VALVE MOUNT REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE

1.

Remove the heater valve and mounting bracket assembly from its three mounts (Illustration 1).

2.

Remove the three existing heater valve mounts ("Instramounts"). Replace the mounts with three new mounts (part number MNA 6730AB).

3.

Refit the heater valve.
