Accumulator: Service and Repair

Valve Body and Accumulator - Remove For Access & Refit

Open the hood and fit suitable fender cover.

^

Raise the vehicle on a ramp.

^

Drain the lubrication system.

^

Remove the fluid pan.

^

Remove the fluid filter.

^

Remove the internal harness, multipin socket O-ring.

^

Remove the internal lubrication pipe.

^

Remove the manual detent spring assembly.

^

Remove the internal dipstick stop.

^

Release and remove the remaining valve body to main case securing bolts (two bolts also secure harness clips).

^

Lower the valve body assembly and place on a clean surface.

^

Remove the front servo piston assembly.

^

Retrieve the check balls from the valve body, see Figs. 1 and 2.

CAUTION: Do net use a magnet.
