Coolant Reservoir: Service and Repair
RENEW
- Open the bonnet and remove the pressure cap, disconnect the catchment tank hose (1 Fig 1) and remove the tank securing screws (2 Fig 1).
- Cut the ratchet strap securing the coolant probe block connector.
- Place a suitable receptacle below the tank, then lift the tank from its position on the wing and drain into the suitable container.
- Slacken the expansion tank hose clips and disconnect the hoses from the tank (3 Fig 1).
- Slacken the coolant level probe securing collar and remove the probe and seal.
- Renew the tank and reverse the removal procedure to refit the tank.
- Top up the expansion tank with coolant, ensure this is the correct solution of water and anti-freeze.
- Refit the pressure cap and close the bonnet.

Header tank to L.H. wing valance 3 - 4 Nm
Header tank to body 8 - 11 Nm
Hose-radiator bleed to header tank 2.5 - 3.5Nm
Hose-thermostat vent to header tank 2.5 - 3.5Nm
Hose-water pump to header tank 2.5 - 3.5Nm
