Engine Mount: Service and Repair

Rear Engine / Transmission Mount
1.
Install engine lifting eye tool No. 18G 1465 or equivalent, to manifold. Install engine support service tool No. MS53C or equivalent, across
engine.
2.
Connect support hook to engine lifting eye. Support weight of engine by tightening locknut.
3.
Raise and support vehicle with axle stands.
4.
Remove nut and bolt securing intermediate exhaust pipe clamp. Reposition clamp away from union.
5.
Disconnect exhaust pipe and remove sealing rings.
6.
Support rear mount with a suitable jack, then remove rear mount securing bolts.
7.
Carefully lower jack and remove mount.
8.
Remove upper spring and spring rubber.
9.
Connect rear engine mount to spring compressor tool No. JD 107 and mounting sleeve tool No. JD 107-2, or equivalents. Ensure shoulder is
located in lower mounting.
10.
Align collar to mounting/tool and compress lower mounting spring, removing tension from micron retaining ring.
11.
Remove center mounting plate and remove micron ring and retainer plate.
12.
Loosen wing nut and remove tool assembly from rear engine mount.
13.
Remove lower spring cup and bump stops.
14.
Remove lower spring rubber and spring.
15.
Remove upper spring mounting cup.
16.
Remove screw securing balance weight. Remove upper weight and upper spring cup.
17.
Reverse procedure to install. Tighten to specifications.
