KEY POINTS:
AUXILIARY ELECTRICAL COMPONENT INSTALLATION
1989 MY XJ6 3.6 vehicles incorporate three additional fuses (No. 15, 16, and 17) at the left hand fuse box. In order to install auxiliary electrical
components to the vehicle, battery power feeds are accessible from the left "A" port fuse box at fuses 16 and 17.
A maximum current draw of 26 amps is available and can be divided randomly between fuses 15, 16, and 17.
NOTE:
Fuse number 15 will control the factory auxiliary fuse box, which will be introduced shortly.
Fuse number 16 is accessible via pin 4 of LS 63 and number 17 via pin 5 of the same connector.
To enable power feed connection, auxiliary link harnesses are available through the Zone Parts Departments. For proper wire selection, refer to "Parts
Information" at the end of this bulletin.
NOTE:
A correct size fuse should also be installed in the appropriate position.
The auxiliary link harness installation procedure is as follows:

Disconnect battery.

Remove L/H lower "A" post trim.

Remove fuse box.
^
Disconnect the red 5-way connector block, (Fig. 1A). Using pliers, carefully pull the anti-back out plate from the connector housing.

Locate pin 4 or 5 on the connector block (Fig. 1A), and insert the auxiliary link cable (Fig. 1B). Replace the anti-back out plate.

Connect auxiliary link cable to the power supply cable of equipment being installed.

Reconnect battery - check operation of equipment.
