Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments
Throttle Potentiometer

Connect a digital, high impedance ohmmeter between throttle potentiometer output voltage and ground pins. This can be done at either the ECU
harness plug or at potentiometer. Pin numbers and wire colors are described below. Set meter scale to approximately 0 - 5V.
NOTE: Carefully probe back of harness connectors to avoid damaging contacts. As an alternate method, take voltmeter readings from straight pins
stuck through wire insulation.

Ensure throttle is completely closed. Turn ignition "ON" and check voltage. Reading should be between 240 - 400 mV.

If voltage is out of specification, loosen potentiometer mounting screws and turn until correct reading is obtained. Tighten screws and recheck.

If correct reading cannot be obtained, check that ECU reference voltage is correct.

If ECU reference voltage is OK and correct potentiometer adjustment cannot be obtained, ensure that no mechanical damage is causing problem. If
not, replace potentiometer.
PIN NUMBERS AND WIRE COLORS
ECU pin L13-14 - input voltage 240mV - 4.9V
Wire color - Green with yellow tracer (GY)
ECU pin L13-22 - reference voltage 5V
Wire color - Pink with purple tracer (KP)
ECU pin L12-6 - ground
Wire color - Black with yellow tracer (BY)
Throttle Pot. pin LI15-1 - wiper output
Throttle Pot. pin LI15-2 - ground
Throttle Pot. pin LI15-3 - reference voltage
