ISSUE:
The fuel filler aperture drain can become blocked with dirt and debris, causing the area around the filler cap to fill with water.
ACTION:
Beginning with VIN 675552, the aperture drain is protected with a strainer.
This strainer can be installed on pre-VIN 675552 vehicles using the following procedure:

Clean all dirt and debris from the fuel filler aperture. Make sure that the drain is not blocked.

With the molding split line pointing towards the center of the filler line, push the strainer into the drain tube up to its shoulder, (Fig. 1).
