Inertia Fuel Shutoff Switch: Description and Operation
Inertia Switch
PURPOSE
In event of collision, switch de-energizes main relay. This safety feature shuts off power to the ECU, injectors and fuel pump relay.
OPERATION
The switch is a gravity activated safety device sensitive to impact forces. When subject to sufficient G-force, as in a collision, the switch opens,
interrupting power to fuel injection system and activating the central locking system to open all door locks and close the trunk lock.
If the inertia switch is tripped, a plunger on top of the switch pops up. To reset, depress plunger.

Beneath driver's side dash.
