ANCHOR ADAPTORS
To allow temporary use of vehicle in the event of a passive restraint system malfunction, two emergency anchor adaptors (Fig. 1A, B) are provided with
all 1989 M.Y. vehicles. The anchors, which are stored in the vehicle glovebox, are marked RH TOP and LH TOP.
Emergency anchor adaptor operation is as follows:
Insert the correct adaptor into the trim finisher channel (guide rail) on the "B" post. Slide the adaptor down until it engages with the assembly anchor at
the end of the runner rail. Remove protective cover. Release the diagonal seat belt buckle from the runner/anchor assembly by operating the red
"PRESS" button. Manually attach the buckle to the emergency anchor adaptor. Install the protective cover to the exposed runner/adaptor assembly.
