Valve Block: Service and Repair

Valve Block Up To VIN 653345
REMOVAL
1.
Clean valve block and surrounding area.
2.
Depressurize ride leveling hydraulic circuit. On 1988-89 model years, also depressurize brake boost circuit.
3.
Disconnect battery positive cable.
4.
Remove tie wraps securing wiring harness.
5.
Disconnect electrical connector.
6.
Remove feed pipe clamp from inner fender.
7.
Remove valve block securing nuts.
8.
Protect against escaping fluid.
9.
Loosen pipe connections and disconnect pipes.
10.
Fit protective caps on pipes.
11.
Carefully remove valve block.
INSTALLATION
1.
Reverse steps to refit.
2.
Top up reservoir.
3.
Exercise and/or bleed ride leveling system. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING PROCEDURES / TESTING PROCEDURES / SYSTEM
TESTING / TEST NOTES / TEST NOTES 6 and 7.
4.
Torque fittings to:
7 - 8 ft lb ( 9 - 11 Nm) ........................................................................................................................................................................ 10 mm fittings
12 - 14 ft lb (16 - 19 Nm) ..................................................................................................................................................................... 12 mm fittings
12 - 14 ft lb (16 - 19 Nm) ..................................................................................................................................................................... 14 mm fittings
