Throttle Cable/Linkage: Description and Operation
Throttle Cable
Throttle Cable
PURPOSE AND OPERATION
A throttle cable connects throttle pedal to a bellcrank, located on top of throttle body. Bellcrank is connected to throttle shaft, which holds throttle
butterfly valve. As pedal is pushed toward floor, cable pulls on bellcrank which causes throttle shaft to rotate, opening throttle butterfly valve. This
allows more air to enter engine causing engine speed to increase.
