TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER

XJ6 SERIES III

A revised transmission oil cooler with an increased cooling capacity has been introduced on Series III XJ6 models from Vehicle Identification Number
352906.
The oil cooler can be fitted to earlier vehicles that exhibit signs of transmission overheating or ejection of transmission fluid.

In some instances, fluid ejection can be caused by aeration of the fluid through displacement of the o-ring in the pump pickup tube. The o-ring must be
checked for integrity (see repair operation #44.20.06, Item 21). The transmission oil level should be to the MINIMUM LEVEL HOT mark. If after
making these checks, fluid is still being ejected, then the oil cooler should be replaced with the latest type.

PARTS REQUIRED: Transmission Oil Cooler - CAC 5143 (replaces C 37666)

Bottom Water Hose - CAC 5152 (replaces GRH 563)

Oil Cooler Hose - CAC 3097/9

Hose Clip - 2 Off - EAC 3215/2
