Oil Pressure Sender: Service and Repair

OIL PRESSURE TRANSMITTER - 6 CYL. 

 
RENEW 

Open the bonnet and fit wing protection covers.
Raise the vehicle on a ramp.
Remove the oil filter canister.
Displace the rubber boot from the transmitter.
Disconnect the transmitter lucar connector (1).
Remove the transmitter (2).

Thoroughly clean the transmitter mating face.

Remove the thread protector from the new transmitter.

Note:   Ensure a new copper washer is fitted to the oil pressure transmitter.

Fit and tighten the transmitter (2).
Ensure the lucar connector is clean, connect the lucar connector (1) to the transmitter.
Reposition the rubber boot.
Refit the oil filter canister.
Lower the vehicle from the ramp.
Remove the dipstick, wipe clean and check the oil level - replenish if necessary.
