Wheel Hub: Service and Repair
Front Suspension

HUB ASSEMBLY

-

Slacken off the front road wheel nuts 1/4 turn each.

-

Jack up the front of the vehicle and support with axle stands.

-

Remove one wheel nut, mark the wheel relative to the stud, and remove the remaining wheel nuts.

-

Remove the road wheel/tire assembly.

-

Disconnect the brake pad wear sensor block connector.

-

Remove the lower guide pin bolt (1) from the caliper.

-

Pivot the caliper (1) upwards to gain access to the brake pads (2).

NOTE:Use an open-ended spanner to hold the guide pin during removal. This will prevent damage to the rubber dust cover.

Remove the brake pads and remove the upper guide pin bolt.

-

Re-position the caliper for access to the carrier securing bolts, cut and remove the lock wire.

-

Remove the carrier securing bolts and remove the carrier.

Remove the disc securing screw and remove the disc.
