Reconnect the breather and stepper motor hoses and secure.

Run the engine until normal operating temperature is reached and switch off.

Disconnect the coolant thermistor multi-plug connector at the thermostat housing (Fig 3).

Connect a 100 ohm 1/4 watt resistor across the multi-plug connections.

Ensure the leads of the resistor do not touch any metal parts of the vehicle.

Switch the ignition "ON" and wait 10 seconds.

The idle speed stepper motor should now be fully wound in, verify by holding the motor and feeling for vibration.

With the ignition still "ON" disconnect the idle speed stepper motor harness multi-plug connector.

Remove the resistor from the thermistor harness connector and reconnect the connector to the thermistor.

Start the engine and if necessary adjust the idle speed actuator air bypass screw with a 7/32in Allen key to
550 to 600 rpm.

Stop the engine.

Reconnect the idle speed stepper motor connector.
-
Close the bonnet.
