Impact Sensor: Service and Repair
Airbag Crash Sensor (Headlamp Cavities)

Airbag Modules

-

Disconnect the battery and wait for one minute before attempting sensor removal.

-

Disconnect sensor harness from forward airbag harness.

-

Remove upper sensor fixing from bonnet hinge mounting bracket.

-

Remove lower sensor fixing and sensor from vehicle.

-

Disconnect the harness (yellow) connector.

-

Examine the sensor, including the harness, for any damage. Renew if necessary.

NOTE:  Examine sensor and sensor harness for damage, renew if necessary. Renew sensors if vehicle has been involved in a collision. Arrows stamped
on the sensor bracket shows orientation in car (points forward).

'L' or 'R' identifies LH or RH mounting. After the vehicle has been involved in a collision, both sensors must be renewed if damage has occurred
to headlamp mounting panel, headlamp assembly, bonnet hinge mounting panel, front longitudinal members, bonnet/bonnet hinges and front
mounting structure.
