Check that the shock absorber upper cupped washer (Illustration 1) is fully seated against the inner fender panel in the engine compartment.

Remove the upper mounting nut (illustration 1) and remove the upper mounting washer and insulator bushing.

Inspect the cupped washer. If the washer is distorted or damaged in any way, install a new cup washer (part no. CBC 5431). Reassemble the
bushing and cup washer, ensuring that the cup washer is correctly seated against the body. Always install a new nut (part no. JZN 100013) and
torque to 26 lb. ft. (35 Nm).

Repeat steps 1-4 on the opposite side of the vehicle.

Reinstall components removed in step 1.

After performing the above inspection, raise the vehicle on a lift so the front suspension hangs fully extended.

Remove the mounting nut (Illustration 2) from the lower mounting of the stabilizer bar link. Discard the nut. Move the link aside to allow access to
the lower mounting of the shock absorber.
