Parking Brake Caliper: Service and Repair
REMOVE
1.
Raise car on a lift or support rear with suitable jack stands.

Remove nuts (6) and bolts (14) securing tie plate to suspension carrier and remove tie plate.
3.
Disconnect return springs from caliper arms.
4.
Using a suitable pry bar, move handbrake caliper arms towards driveshaft and disengage cable from each arm. Position handbrake cable away
from calipers.

Bend down locking tabs securing handbrake caliper mounting bolts, then remove mounting bolts, tab washer and retraction plate.
6.
Remove caliper by sliding to the rear, around the brake disc. When the caliper is at the rear of the disc, reposition it toward the middle of the
suspension unit and remove it out the bottom.
NOTE:The calipers should be checked for proper self-adjusting operation, before they are refitted to the car.

OVERHAUL
1.
Remove pads from carriers.
2.
Remove screw securing cover to carrier.
3.
Remove split pin from pivot pin.
