Water Pump: Service and Repair

1.

Drain cooling system, then remove fan clutch/fan unit.

Loosen jockey pulley carrier securing block (1), trunnion locknut (2), adjusting link bolt securing nut (3) and adjusting link nut (4).

Remove belt, then remove adjuster trunnion bolt (1) and idler pulley screws.

Remove two studs, then the power steering belt, air pump belt and compressor belt.

5.

Loosen power steering pump pivot bolts enough to pull adjustment bolt from special stud (4). Remove stud (5).

6.

Remove thermostatic switch housing and bottom hose.

7.

Loosen upper clip on engine crosspipe hose.

8.

Remove water pump bolts and washers. Remove pump downwards, clear of crosspipe hose.

9.

Reverse procedure to install. Tighten to specifications.
