Oil Filter Adapter: Service and Repair

REMOVE

- Remove the left intermediate pipe with front muffler.
- Remove down pipe/catalyst. Discard the sealing rings.

NOTE:Turn the steering to full left lock, this will enable the down pipe to be manoeuvred clear.

Oil Filter Adaptor-Relief Flow System

- Disconnect the oil cooler supply pipe union (3).
- Remove the clip on the pressure relief valve vent hose (1).
- Remove the oil filter.
- Remove the LH front heatshield.
- Remove the four filter head retaining screws (4).
- Carefully break the filter head to cylinder block seal and press the filter head upwards until the by-pass valve stub pipe clears the housing.
- Separate the vent pipe from the relief valve.
- Manoeuvre the filter head clear.

REFIT

- Clean and examine all components, replace as necessary.
- Thoroughly clean all mating faces.

Oil Filter Adaptor - Relief Flow System

- Fit a new O-ring to the by-pass valve stub pipe.
- Fit a new gasket to the cylinder block and place the filter head into position.
- Press the stub pipe down on to the by-pass valve housing and locate one screw.
- Fit and tighten the remaining screws and washers.
- Fit a new clip to the relief valve vent hose.
