Evaporator Assembly - Modifications

AIR CONDITIONING EVAPORATOR

MODEL:

XJ6 & XJ-S HE

A recent change in the evaporator assembly as received from the supplier requires the relocation of the evaporator/ expansion valve mounting plate on
the air conditioning unit case. Units to this condition were introduced at VIN-347244, XJ6, and 108046, XJ-S. Evaporator/Expansion Valve assemblies
to the latest condition are available from parts sources.

Should replacement of Evaporator/Expansion Valve assembly be required on vehicles prior to the above VINS, then the following modifications will
apply.

MODIFICATION PROCEDURE

1.

Following the removal of the air conditioning assembly and the evaporator unit, carefully cut off the metal flanges. (FIG. 1-C)
