Emissions Maintenance Light: Service and Repair
Mechanical Speedometer
Mileage Counter Reset Button
The oxygen sensor maintenance reminder light located in the left rear corner of the engine compartment, will come ON as a reminder for service at
30,000 mile intervals. The mileage counter is fitted inline with the speedometer flexible drive line. It is located under the intake manifold, and can
be seen clearly when viewed from underneath the vehicle. The unit is a gear driven mechanical reduction device and is fitted with a magnetically
operated reed switch. Service is performed by replacing the oxygen sensor. After the appropriate service has been completed, insert reset key into
mileage reset switch. Turn key until "000" is obtained. If a factory (BLT-5007) reset key is not avaliable, one can be made with a piece of stiff
steel cut to the shape shown in the image.
