Air Rails: Service and Repair
Right Hand

AIR RAIL (RIGHT HAND)

RENEW

Depressurize the fuel system.  See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Service and Repair 

Remove the fuel feed bundy tube to right hand manifold securing screw. 
Remove the spacer. 

Slacken off the fuel feed pipe to fuel rail hose clip and disconnect the pipe from the hose. Carefully displace the pipe from the fuel rail/air rail
location.

Disconnect the cold start injector block connector. 

Disconnect the cross pipe form the RH manifold. 

Disconnect and reposition the right hand throttle rod.

Disconnect the full throttle micro switch feed wires. 

Cut and remove the clips securing the harness to the RH manifold balance pipe.

Disconnect the RH balance pipe Disconnect the RH air rail hose.

Slacken the right hand air rail hose clips (3). Remove the air rail clamp nut (2) and displace the clamps to the top of the pipes.

Secure the clamps with tape. Remove the air rail (4) from the engine.

Remove the tapes, clamps, hose assembly and 'P' clips.

Remove and discard the sealing rings (5) from the manifold.

Fit new sealing rings to the replacement air rail. Fit the 'P' clips into positions on the rail. Tape the clamps into position at the top of the pipes. Fit
the assembly to position on the manifold. Remove the tape, position the clamps, fit and tighten the securing nuts.

Position the earth tags and solenoid valve. Fit the air rail clamp screws, hose and hose clip. Refit the RH balance pipe.

Secure the harness with new clips. Connect the full throttle micro switch feed wires.

Refit the RH throttle rod.

Reconnect the cross pipe and cold start injector block connector.

Refit the fuel feed pipe.
