Ignition Cable: Testing and Inspection

1.

Remove ignition wires from engine.

2.

Measure resistance of each wire.  Readings should be:

1A  ..............................................................................................................................................................................................  3.05k to 7.35k ohms
2A  ..............................................................................................................................................................................................  2.09k to 5.04k ohms
3A  ..............................................................................................................................................................................................  2.27k to 5.46k ohms
4A  ..............................................................................................................................................................................................  3.48k to 8.40k ohms
5A  ..............................................................................................................................................................................................  3.13k to 7.56k ohms
6A  ..............................................................................................................................................................................................  3.22k to 7.77k ohms

1B  ..............................................................................................................................................................................................  4.00k to 9.66k ohms
2B  ..............................................................................................................................................................................................  2.78k to 6.72k ohms
3B  ..............................................................................................................................................................................................  1.31k to 3.15k ohms
4B  ..............................................................................................................................................................................................  2.00k to 4.83k ohms
5B  ..............................................................................................................................................................................................  3.31k to 7.98k ohms
6B  ..............................................................................................................................................................................................  3.92k to 9.45k ohms

If wires are not to specification, replace wires.
