Fuel Pressure Release: Service and Repair

DEPRESSURIZING THE FUEL SYSTEM

Depressurize the fuel system prior to disconnecting any fuel pipe connections or removing components as follows;

1.  Open the luggage compartment and remove the right-hand trim liner.
2.  Locate the relays mounted at the rear of the right-hand "hockey stick" panel.
3.  Displace relays from their mounting and identify the fuel pump relay (silver relay on a black/yellow base) (Fig. 1).
4.  Disconnect the relay from the base.
5.  Crank the engine to depressurize the system.
6.  Reposition the relay and trim liner, close the luggage compartment.
