1. Remove driver side dash liner assembly to access pedal housing.
2. Disconnect brake pedal/cruise control switch harness from switch, Fig. 7.
3. Remove retaining switch assembly to pedal housing, then switch assembly.
4. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:

a. Ensure only two teeth of switch are engaged in ratchet, Fig. 8.
b. With brake pedal down, install and tighten switch assembly.
c. Slowly release brake pedal. Switch will click several times as ratchet mechanism self adjusts.

5. Connect switch electrical harness.
6. Turn ignition switch to ON position.
7. Check stop lamp operation.
8. Check gear shift interlock system operation.
