Power Steering Pump: Service and Repair
Assemble

1.

Lubricate new driveshaft seal and install to pump shaft housing.

2.

Install new O-ring to lower recess in pump body.

3.

Insert dowel pins into locating holes in pump body.

4.

With cutaway face uppermost, insert bottom plate to driveshaft.

5.

With counterbored face of rotor facing bottom plate, install rotor over splines of driveshaft.

6.

Secure rotor and bottom plate with circlip.

7.

Insert vanes in rotor slots, ensuring radial edges face out.

8.

Carefully install driveshaft and rotor assembly to pump body. Ensure dowel pins locate through smallest holes of bottom plate.

9.

With arrowed section facing up, install pump ring chamber over rotor assembly and dowel pins.

10.

Push complete pump assembly into position.

11.

Lubricate a new O-ring and connect to upper recess in pump body.

12.

Install spring to recess in top plate.

13.

Position retaining plate over spring in pump body.

14.

Push plate into pump body and install retaining ring. Ensure ring is fully positioned in locating recess.

15.

Install new O-rings to port recesses in pump body.

16.

Install new large O-ring to periphery of pump body and magnet to pump body flange.

17.

Position pump body outer casing over body. Locate bracket mounting studs through outer casing and into pump body.

18.

Carefully drive outer casing fully home over pump body.

19.

Fully tighten bracket mounting studs. Install spring and flow control valve to pump.

20.

Install high pressure outlet union to pump.

21.

Install new woodruff key to driveshaft spindle.

22.

Install front mounting plate to pump. Ensure correct location of spacers.

23.

Install pump pulley and rear mounting plate.
