Wiper Motor: Service and Repair

Fig 16 Wiper Motor

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove wiper arms.

2.

Disconnect and remove engine compartment seal.

3.

Remove plenum finisher securing screws, then reposition plenum finisher for access to washer jets.

4.

Disconnect washer solvent supply tubes and remove plenum finisher.

5.

Remove wiper motor drive spindle securing nut and spacer (1), Fig. 16.

6.

Disconnect vacuum tube from manifold balance pipe, then loosen balance pipe to manifold securing clips.

7.

Remove balance pipe assembly, then cut and remove cable ties securing harness to wiper motor assembly.

8.

Disconnect wiper motor harness connector.

9.

Release wiper motor assembly to lower body securing clips (2), Fig. 16.

10.

Remove wiper motor assembly to upper body securing bolts (3), Fig. 16.

11.

Remove engine oil dipstick.

12.

Carefully remove wiper motor (4).

13.

Reverse procedure to install.
