Windshield Wipers Fail to Park Correctly

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
The windshield wipers may fail to park in the correct position. Increased electrical resistance, causing an inconsistent signal to the park switch, may be
caused by:
1. A poor connection between the wiper motor / vehicle harness
2. Corrosion of ground terminal G30 and / or mating eyelets
Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Inspection Procedure outlined below to before replacing a windshield wiper motor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
CHECK FOR EXCESSIVE ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE
1. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor harness (EC27):

Ensure connector / harness is free from corrosion.

Ensure electrical pins are in good condition.
2. Connect the windshield wiper motor harness (EC27).
3. Disassemble ground stud G30:
Clean all eyelets and mating surfaces.
4. Assemble ground stud G30:
^
Using the removed nut, tighten to 9Nm +/- 1.4Nm (6.5 lbf ft +/- 1.0 lbf ft).
