Valet Key Opens Trunk - Incorrect Lock Cylinder- Repair Procedure

ISSUE:

A small number of 2004 MY XJ range vehicles within the above VIN range, may have an incorrect luggage compartment lock installed, which will
permit access with the 'valet' key Should a customer express concern, a new lock should be installed.

Action:

Note: 

When carrying out key and lock checks during PDI please ensure that valet key operation is checked to ensure customer satisfaction.

In case of a customer complaint of the above condition on a 2004 MY XJ range, install a new lock cylinder (see Workshop Manual, JTIS CD ROM,
section: 501-14, SRO 76.19.19).

Note:

Do not replace the entire vehicle lock set. When ordering a new luggage compartment lock, the original key number MUST be provided. If the
original key number is not supplied, the order will be cancelled without notification.
