Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

Brake Booster (70.50.17) 

Removal

All vehicles

1. Remove the brake master cylinder.

Vehicles built up to VIN:G45703

2. Disconnect the brake booster pedal travel sensor and brake booster solenoid electrical connectors.

Vehicles built from VIN:G45704

NOTE:  Vehicles with 3.0L and 3.5L engines.

3. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector.

All vehicles

4. Remove the brake booster retaining nut.

5. NOTE:  The non-return valve and vacuum pipe assembly should be removed with the brake booster.

NOTE:  Remove and discard the brake booster/pedal box gasket.

Remove the brake booster.
