There should be no detrimental effect from wiping the windshield with the blade protectors in place.

Blade protectors give a wipe quality sufficient for moving finished vehicles in wet weather up to 30 miles/h.

Where vehicles need to be driven on public roads in wet weather, or where wiper performance is part of an audit, the wiper blade protectors should
be removed, and replaced after the test I audit.

Wiper blade protectors should otherwise remain in place until dealer PDI, just prior to delivery to customer.

To remove the protector, lift the wiper blade and pull the crimped end as shown in Illustration 2.
