ISSUE:

The two bolts that retain each rear brake caliper to the hub carrier have been changed from a cross-drilled design, which must be safety-wired, to a
self-locking design beginning with VIN 761784.

This change in specification will also affect service kits for rear brake calipers and rear brake discs which apply to all 1995 MY-ON Sedan Range
vehicles from VIN 720001. Later kits will include self-locking retaining bolts when the supply of earlier kits is exhausted.

WARNING:

The self-locking retaining bolts are restricted to ONE USE ONLY. Once removed, they MUST be discarded and replaced by NEW self-locking
retaining bolts.

The earlier style cross-drilled retaining bolts can be reused with NEW safety wire.

ACTION:

When removing rear brake caliper retaining bolts during service repair operations observe the following:

RETAINING BOLTS REMOVED DURING SERVICE REPAIR OPERATIONS

Safety-wired retaining bolts (Illustration 1) can be reinstalled provided they are in good condition and are safety-wired after being tightened to the
correct torque. These bolts can be replaced by the new self-locking retaining bolts.

Self-locking retaining bolts must be discarded after one use. Replace with new self-locking retaining bolts, part no. JZB 100060.

INSTALLING BRAKE DISC OR CALIPER REPAIR KITS

Until inventory is exhausted, early style kits can be used on vehicles with either style retaining bolts. However these kits do NOT contain self-locking
retaining bolts. If the kit will be used on a vehicle having existing self-locking retaining bolts, NEW self-locking retaining bolts must be installed.
