Hold the end of your hand held transmitter against the roof console just forward of the courtesy light and map lights, as shown in Illustrations 1
and 2.

Using both hands, press both the hand held transmitter button and the selected channel button on the roof console. DO NOT RELEASE EITHER
button until step 5 has been carried out.

Hold down both buttons until you see the red light marked "GARAGE" on the roof console flash slowly at first, then rapidly. This could take up to
one minute, or more. Release both buttons when the red light flashes rapidly. This rapid flashing indicates that the GDO transmitter has been
successfully programmed to match your hand held transmittal

The old hand held transmitter can now be set aside and the roof console button used in future.

Note:

(Canada only) During programming, the hand held transmitter may automatically stop transmitting after one or two seconds, which may not be long
enough for the GDO to be programmed. If you are programming using one of these transmitters, continue to press the selected channel button while
pressing the hand held transmitter button every two seconds. This action may have to be repeated several times to achieve successful programming;
Indicated by rapid flashing of the red "GARAGE" light....

Program the other channels, as required, using hand held transmitters previously used for other electronic services.

"Code Protected" or "Rolling Code" GDO (Yellow LED)

If you have successfully programmed the GDO but the garage door will not open, and if your GDO receiver (garage unit) was manufactured after 1995,
your system may have a rolling code feature. This feature will change the code of your GDO every time you open or close your garage door.

To determine if you have one of these systems. press the button previously programmed on the roof console. If the yellow light marked "GARAGE"
flashes rapidly for 1 to 2 seconds then turns solid, your garage door opener has a rolling code feature.
