Radiator: Description and Operation
This is a high-performance radiator with integral transmission oil cooler featuring dimpled tubes and high-performance louvered fins. The large, robust
plate-type transmission oil cooler is located in the radiator outlet bank.
A lightweight, multi-pass fin-over-tube air conditioning condenser with block-type connections is incorporated. The radiator also accommodates the
power-assisted steering reservoir and carries the cooling module fan/cowl assembly.
Radiator bleed is via the top hose and the bleed spigot on the radiator outlet tank is blanked-off.
The radiator can be removed without the need to remove the air-conditioning condenser or interrupting the air conditioning circuit. Block-type
connections facilitate condenser assembly and removal.
The radiator is mounted on four rubber mounts, one on each corner, and a closing panel fits over the top of the radiator bolted to the vehicle body. The
radiator closing panel is made from glass-filled nylon.
Foam sealing strips on all four sides of the radiator/cooling module assembly are fitted to prevent hot and contaminated air recirculating back into the
cooling module area.
