Engine Mount: Description and Operation

The engine is mounted at three points. At the front, on either side of the engine, there are two mounting brackets, one on each bank with a Hydramount
mounted to the crossbeam. At the rear, a single rubber/metal-composite mount is fixed to the cast crossmember.

The rear engine mounting rubber provides support for both the rear of the engine and the transmission unit. This is a rubber mount-and-metal bracket
assembly secured with a single fixing onto the crossmember. This, in turn, is located on an extension bracket at the end of the transmission unit.

The three engine mounts provide a robust and resilient mounting platform between the engine and the vehicle chassis and all three are non-serviceable
items.
