Winter (Snow) Tires - Recommendations

Issue:

The PIRELLI P Zero tires used as original equipment on all XK8 models are intended to provide ultra-high performance under normal road conditions.
However, snow tires will provide considerable improvements in vehicle handling under adverse winter conditions.

Jaguar approval has been given to the PIRELLI Winter tires listed below. The use of any other winter tires is not recommended.

255/45R17 98H Winter 210 Performance M + S

245/50R17 99H Winter 210 Performance Asimmetrico M + S

Action:

When installing snow tires on an XK8, follow these recommendations and limitations, which must be passed on to the customer:

1.

Winter tires should only be used in complete sets (4 tires) of the same size and type.

2.

Where legislation permits high speeds, do not exceed 130 mph (210 km/h) when using winter tires.

3.

245/50R17 99H Winter 210 Performance Asimmetrico M + S tires will not become available before September 1997.

Until then, use the 255/45R17 98H Winter 210 Performance M + S tire on vehicles originally equipped with 245/50ZR17 99Y Performance
Asimmetrico Summer tires.
