Vehicles for Mexico are now equipped with two carbon canisters and a modified atmospheric venting arrangement (Illustration 1). The canisters and
control valves, including the vapor (EVAP) purge valve (A), are mounted on a single bracket to the rear of the left front wheel behind the wheel arch
liner. Operation of the vapor purge system is unchanged: vapor inflow from the tank and the purge valve outflow to the engine are shown arrowed.

The vent outlet from the top canister is connected via a three way junction to the atmospheric vent pipe (B) and a new, normally closed, pressure relief
valve (C). The vent pipe is open ended and extends to the rear of the vehicle to reduce the possible intrusion of fuel odors. The vent relief valve is
identical to the existing tank pressure control valve (D) and is located below it on the canister mounting bracket. If a blockage or water ingress occurs in
the main vent pipe, the resulting pressure increase causes the relief valve to open and vent the canisters directly to atmosphere. Note that the vent relief
valve does not require a vacuum control feed (E).

New fasteners are introduced on both standard and premium ICE systems on convertibles:

Premium ICE new fasteners JZH 100069 (3) replace the 1997 MY fasteners
JZH 100040 (2) and JSH 106187 (1).

Standard ICE : new fasteners JZH 100069 (2) replace fasteners JXB 10614F.

BADGING

The slanted lettering used previously has been replaced with style more consistent with Sedan vehicles.
