4. Remove spring from spring compressor. 

Release upper retaining arms. 
Remove spring.

5. Transfer the position of the reference tape, from the existing spring to the new spring.

Apply reference tape to the new spring.

6. Clean relevant parts.

Installation 

1. NOTE:  The fitted position of the packing washer must not be altered during assembly of the spring.

Fit packing washer and align to spring.

Fit the packing washer so that the vertical claws grip the lower spring coil.
Rotate the packing washer until the stop on the washer comes into contact with the end of the spring coil.

2. Position spring in spring compressor. 

Position spring.
