Constant Velocity Joint Boot: Service and Repair
Inner Constant Velocity
Inner Constant Velocity (CV) Joint Boot
Removal
CAUTION: The inboard joint has angularly adjusted roller (AAR) joints. AAR joints have no internal retaining mechanism and can
separate.
1. WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the halfshaft.
3. NOTE: Position and secure component in a bench vice fitted with soft jaws.
Remove and discard the CV joint boot outer retaining clamp.
4. Remove the outer CV joint.

Carefully release the clip.
5. NOTE: Note the fitted position.
Remove the outer CV joint boot.

Remove and discard the CV joint boot inner retaining clamp.
Installation
1. Clean and inspect the components for deterioration.
2. NOTE: Align to the position noted on removal.
Install the CV joint boot.

Secure the clip.
