Jaguar XK V8-42L Workshop Service and Repair Manuals

CAUTION:

This procedure requires the Jaguar IDS DVD 109 with Patch File *2* or laterand the Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply.

1.

Connect the Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply to the vehicle.

2.

Connect IDS to the vehicle.

*CAUTION:

This step MUST be performed as the vehicle will power down after one hour unless the Smart Key is inserted into the starter control unit.*

3.

*Insert the Smart Key into the starter control unit.*

4.

Begin a new diagnostic session by entering the correct VIN for the current vehicle.

5.

Follow the IDS prompts to read the vehicle configuration.

6.

Select 'NO' when prompted 'Do you wish to read diagnostic trouble codes?'.

7.

Press 'tick' to continue.

8.

Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.

9.

Select 'Vehicle Configuration tab' when the Content Model is displayed.

10.

Select 'Module Programming' from the menu.

11.

Select 'Configure Existing Modules' from the drop down menu.

12.

Select 'Software Enhancement Program' from the drop down menu.

13.

Select 'Infotainment System' from the drop down menu.

14.

Select 'Front Control/Display Interface Module (high level display front)' from the menu.

15.

Press 'tick' to continue.

16.

Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.

17.

Select 'Infotainment Control Module' from the menu.

18.

Press 'tick' to continue.

19.

Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.

20.

Select 'Audio Front Control Module' from the menu.

21.

Press 'tick' to continue.

22.

Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.

23.

When the task is completed, exit the current session.

24.

*Remove the Smart Key from the starter control unit.*

25.

Disconnect the IDS and Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply.
