CONDITION SUMMARY:

SOFTWARE UPGRADES AND FUEL FILLER FLAP REPAIR

Situation: 

New software is now available to overcome a number of customer concerns on Jaguar XK vehicles within the above VIN range. The module updates will
improve the start/stop strategy, protect the battery life and prevent the vehicle keys from being locked in either the passenger compartment or the trunk.
All vehicles will require the following modules to be upgraded:

Central Junction Box (Body Control Module

Auxiliary Junction Box (Body Control Module B)

^

Drivers Door Module

^

Passengers Door Module

^

Instrument Cluster Control Module

Vehicles that have NOT had Service Action S856 performed will require the following modules to be updated also to improve start authorization and to
correct SRS logged DTC U0001-88:

Keyless Vehicle Module

^

Restraints Control Module

This Service Action also includes modification instructions for the fuel filler door which provides more reliable operation. Note that on some vehicles
(B20076 - B21714) the filler door upgrade may be the only repair required.

Action: 

Dealers are to repair unsold vehicles prior to retail sale. For those vehicles in the hands of the customer, repair the vehicle at the first available
opportunity. At the time of confirming a service appointment, ensure that all outstanding Service Campaigns are identified to ensure the correct parts are
available and adequate workshop time is allocated for repairs to be completed at one visit.
