Disconnect the vacuum line at the quick-connect fitting above the brake booster. (Figure 3)

Disengage the protective grommet.
^
Carefully pull the vacuum line back toward the passenger side of the vehicle to free it from under the hose and AC tubing.
5.
Carefully inspect the area of the hose that had been near the EGR valve for any signs of heat damage.
6.
If the vacuum hose is determined to be undamaged, perform the following:

Position the vacuum hose above the rubber coolant hose and steel AC tubing.

Position the protective grommet.
^
Reconnect the quick connect fitting.
7.
If any damage to the vacuum hose is determined, perform the following:

Disconnect the installed vacuum hose at the throttle body. (Figure 4)
^
Remove the damaged vacuum hose from the vehicle.
^
Position the replacement vacuum hose above the rubber coolant hose and steel AC tubing.
^
Install the replacement vacuum hose to the throttle body.
^
Position the protective grommet.
^
Reconnect the replacement hose quick connect fitting above the brake booster.
8.
Install air intake and engine compartment shielding components removed for access.
