Phone Call Quality Poor to a Third Party - Repair Procedure

CONDITION SUMMARY:
PHONE CALL SPEECH QUALITY IS POOR TO A THIRD PARTY
Situation:
A customer may report a concern that a third-party caller can not hear the speech very well while the vehicle is being driven. A lot of background noise
may be interfering with the sound quality of the speech. A combination of microphone positioning and noise cancellation/signal processing within the
phone system software is the likely cause.
Action:
Should a customer express this concern, refer to the Repair Procedure detailed in this bulletin to *install a new external microphone* and, depending on
VIN, re-configure the Bluetooth Telephone Module using the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS).
